A production brief for the figures in The Resistanz Method - White Paper. Each entry gives the purpose, chart type, exact data, labels, and placement. Everything here is either already verified in the paper's reference list or flagged as needing a number from Thurston.

Why this matters. The Stanford reviewer's second comment was that the paper needs more graphs and images, both to visualise how the parts of the model fit together and to show research results. Figures 6A and 6B answer the first half. Figures 3A and 11A answer the second.

House style

Apply to every figure so the set reads as one document.

Element Specification
Format SVG or PNG at 2x, minimum 1600px wide
Typeface One sans-serif throughout, matching the deck if one exists
Palette One accent colour for Resistanz / intervention, one neutral grey for traditional / control, one alert colour used sparingly
Caption Figure number and short title placed inside the image, as in the existing Figure 2A
Notion caption Figure number only, e.g. "Figure 2A"
Source line Small grey text at the base of the image, author and year only
Avoid 3D effects, gradients, drop shadows, pie charts, dual y-axes
Accessibility Do not rely on colour alone. Use pattern, label, or line style as well

Priority order

If only three get made, make 6A, 6B, and 11A. Those are the three that change how the paper reads.

  1. 6B - three-stage repetition cycle. The single most important figure in the paper.
  2. 6A - strength curve under fixed load versus isokinetic load.
  3. 11A - UCLA trial results.
  4. 7A - the 17.5-minute session timeline.
  5. 3A - grip strength and mortality.
  6. 4A - where session time actually goes.
  7. 3B - stepwise model of muscle loss.
